Age is just a number, make it count gracefully

Old age is termed as second childhood. Some of us accept it gracefully,  but many among us consider it as curse. People relate grey hair, wrinkled skin, detachment, loneliness, weakness to old age.

What exactly is old age?

Is that restricted only to diminishing grace and charm? We come across people who enjoy life even when they are old. And there are people who show aversion and negativity even at young age.
In this context, it is better to understand old age from a psychological perspective. When we are young, we are busy learning new things, eager to adopt new trends, mingle with friends and relatives, and find happiness in small things. In short, life looks cool when we are young.

What happens when we grow older.?

We just stop learning. We just stop changing. We feel as if we are left alone to witness all those changes that happen around us. When we stop  learning,  we stop progressing.  When we stop progressing,  our thoughts and outlook become older. When our thoughts become older, we feel out of sync. When we are out of sync, we feel lonely and  that leads to depression.  All the above mentioned qualities perfectly blend  to form old age.

Learning is unlimited and change is the only constant thing in this world. So, learn continuously and change constantly to beat the old age blues.
